群馬県伊勢崎市出身。11歳の頃にチェロを弾き始め、18歳でコントラバスを始める。奨学金を得て渡米、2006年にバークリー音楽大学を卒業。その直後に移住したニューヨークではピアニストの菊地雅章氏に師事する。2009年に帰国後、日野皓正バンドに加入（2010-16）現在は自身主宰のトリオ、Banksia Trio（バンクシアトリオ、林正樹, 石若駿）をはじめ、渡辺貞夫カルテット, 峰厚介カルテット, 本田珠也トリオ, 八木美知依トリオ他多くのグループに参加。これまでに東京ジャズ, デトロイト(米), モントルー(スイス), ブリスベン(豪), メールス(独), 香港などの数多くの国際ジャズフェスティバルに出演。
近年は、Audi A5新車発表会での楽曲制作と演奏(2017)、岡本太郎記念館の企画展「日本の原影」のためのソロ楽曲制作 (2019)や、俳優の金子あいの舞台「平家物語」に即興演奏で参加。米津玄師「ゆめうつつ」、夏木マリ「TOKYO JUNK BOOGIE」などレコーディング参加作品も多数。今までに全4作のリーダーアルバムをリリースしている。最新作は、Banksia Trioの3作目「MASKS」で、今年6月より発売中。
Born in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, he began playing the cello at the age of 11 and transitioned to the double bass at 18. Winning a scholarship enabled him to study abroad at the Berklee College of Music, from where he graduated in 2006. Subsequently, he moved to New York, studying under the renowned pianist, Masabumi Kikuchi.
Upon returning to Japan in 2009, he joined the Sadao Watanabe Band, serving from 2010 to 2016. Currently, he is a part of various musical ensembles, such as the Banksia Trio, which he leads (alongside Masaki Hayashi and Shun Ishiwaka), Sadao Watanabe Quartet, Kosuke Mine Quartet, Tamao Honda Trio, and Michiyo Yagi Trio. His international portfolio includes performances at many prestigious jazz festivals, including Tokyo Jazz, Detroit (US), Montreux (Switzerland), Brisbane (Australia), Moers (Germany), and Hong Kong.
In recent years, his versatility is on display with a wide variety of projects like creating and performing music for the Audi A5 new car launch in 2017, crafting a solo piece for the Okamoto Taro Memorial Museum’s exhibit “Japanese Primal Scene” in 2019, and contributing improvised performances to the play “The Tale of Heike” featuring Ai Kaneko. His recording credits include contributions to Kenshi Yonezu’s “Yumeutsutsu” and Mari Natsuki’s “TOKYO JUNK BOOGIE”. To date, he has released four albums as a lead artist, the latest being the third installment by the Banksia Trio, “MASKS”, which was released in June this year.

繊細なタッチで研ぎ澄まされた音色を放つピアニスト。
作曲家としても独自のメロディーセンス・ハーモニーセンスを持つ楽曲を多く発表、また編曲家としてもストリングスなどのオーケストレーションを探求。
伊藤ゴロー、福盛進也、挾間美帆m_unit、原田知世、象眠舎などにピアニストとして参加。
2021年、全て自らの作曲による2枚組のアルバム『Embryo』をnagaluからリリース。ソロピアノによるDisc1と、弦楽カルテットを含むアンサンブルによるDisc2からなるこの作品で、唯一無二のピアニズムと作曲家／編曲家としての魅力を存分に発揮。
TVドラマ「絶対正義」(2019年)の劇中音楽の作曲・ピアノ演奏を担当。
映画「劇場版 ヴァイオレット・エヴァーガーデン」(2020年)やゲーム「ジャックジャンヌ」(2021年)の劇中音楽のピアノ演奏を担当。
Born in ’83. Yokohama, Kanagawa is where the story began. Berklee College of Music alumnus. Versatile in Jazz, Improv, Chamber vibes, Post-Classical, Pop beats, and Film scores. A pianist with a vibe, delivering crisp tones with finesse. Composer with a twist—dropping tracks with a unique melodic and harmonic DNA. As an arranger, he’s deep-diving into orchestral strings. Collabed with the likes of Gorō Itō, Shinya Fukumori, Miho Hazama’s m_unit, Tomoyo Harada, and the edgy Zouminsha. 2021 saw the drop of his double album, “Embryo” via nagalu—purely his own sound. A solo piano gig on Disc1, teamed with a string quartet ensemble on Disc2, putting his distinct pianism and composer/arranger swag on full display. Crafted and jammed the score for the TV drama “ZETTAI SEIGI” (’19). Laid down the keys for “Violet Evergarden: The Movie” (’20) and the game vibes of “Jack Jeanne” (’21).
